Arranged marriages in Westernized countries ( plot for a book)?
I want to write a book set in modern times about a girl who is supposed to get married to a man she doesn’t love. Her father has arranged the whole shebang!
What I was wondering is if in a Western country arranged marriages can happen if the person is not from a culture that has that sort of thing (eg Islam or India). I want my character’s family to be Christian (no offense to any one) and she to be Wicca border Pagan, but mixing with Satanists ( wrong crowd).
And if anyone has any other ideas they would be welcome.

My idea is that you look it up yourself. It’s your book, and if it’s wildly inaccurate from people’s supposings and maybes then it’ll look bad on you. Just because someone posts it on Y!A doesn’t mean they are right and you have no way of finding out if they are!
As for the arranged marriages they are not really in effect here, but it would be an idea for you to add it in a way that’s relevant to your story, or have the Father being rich/powerful/whatever so that he can control his daughter’s life in this aspect.
